Art demos to groups and societies are a fun and informative way of developing your knowledge and understanding of how art is created.
Lectures and demos can be on a wide variety of subjects and media (e.g. oil, acrylic or pastel). Popular subjects include wildlife, birds and domestic animals, landscapes, seascapes, marine and still life.
Demonstrations can also focus on specific areas of need such as fur, feathers, eyes, backgrounds, trees or anything relating to the aforementioned subjects. Demonstrations can also explore the techniques of painting such as aspects of structure, composition, colour and perspective.
This flexibility allows any group or Society to choose what its members would like to see and also creates many options for on-going sessions aimed at promoting and developing members’ artistic interests.
Paul has been a professional artist now for more than 30 years and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise which he enjoys passing onto others. Since the early 1990s, Paul has been demonstrating and lecturing regularly to art clubs, societies and groups across the UK and is often asked back again and again. Paul demonstrated regularly for Liquitex, Steadtler and Windsor and Newton as well as being a regular demonstrator at the Islington art fair for many years.
Demonstrations last for two hours (longer by arrangement). Paul brings all his own equipment, needing only a power supply and a couple of tables, as well as sketchbooks and original artwork to view. There will also be an array of limited edition prints should members wish to purchase copies.
Cost per demonstration is £200 plus travel @ 25p per mile. Please bear in mind that for distances over an hour’s drive from Hythe an overnight stay in the area may be required which will be added to the cost. Bookings are on a first come, first served basis.
