Aldington across the Romney Marsh
Oil on panel 7″ x 12″
This en plein air landscape was painted during a warm, summer’s day as I was out painting on the Romney Marsh. This view is the ancient village of Aldington, once a haunt of the infamous ‘Owler’s’ the renowned 17th and 18th century smugglers of the Romney Marsh. The village is very beautiful with an ancient and historic church.
